The Walk & Roll Challenge runs from September to May and rewards students K-8 monthly prizes for walking and biking to school. Students track the days that they walked or biked to school (walking or biking to the bus counts) and then submit them online by the end of each month. Prize winners get chosen the first week of the following month. The more frequently a student walks or bikes to school, the greater their chance of winning sweet prizes like scooters and bikes. Parents who encourage their kids to walk or bike will also be entered into a separate drawing to incentivize their kids to participate. Click here for full details and a printable progress chart.

Message from Principal Culley:

Today I wanted to send a message about our sidewalks and keeping everyone safe on their way to school and home. I’ve had a few parents reach out to me with their concerns about student safety on the sidewalks before and after school. Many of our Bonneville students and parents walk, or ride a scooter or bike to school and home. Traveling by bike and scooter are a fun, healthy, and a great way to be independent. But it is important to remember that a bicycle or scooter is not a toy: it’s a vehicle. It’s very hectic around the school when schools start and ends each day. If the sidewalks are crowded, I am going to ask students to walk their bikes and scooters. As part of the Bonneville clean air committee, I will always encourage Bobcats to walk or roll to school. Please feel free to talk to your students about sidewalk safety at home.
