Our PTO

As a parent or caregiver of a Bonneville student, you are automatically part of the Bonneville PTO (Parent Teacher Organization). The PTO leadershi­­p has been planning and organizing over the summer and we look forward to hearing your ideas and partnering with you to make this a wonderful school year.

 

Why a PTO?

The benefit of the Bonneville PTO (as opposed to a PTA) is that we are an independent organization and are not subject to another organization’s state or national bylaws, dues or fees. Bonneville’s PTO operates under its own bylaws (that can be found on the PTO website) and is a standalone nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status from the IRS.  

 

100% of donated funds stay at the school under the direction of the PTO Executive Board. All donations are tax deductible under Bonneville Elementary Tax ID 88-1379839.

 

 

PTO Objectives

  1. Organizes volunteer opportunities for parents

  2. Fundraises to support specialized arts and science instruction as well as student programs and community events

  3. Plans and executes community building events

  4. Partners with teachers and administrators to provide feedback and improve the student experience

PTO Meetings

PTO meetings will be held the second Thursday of every month, either at 9:15am or 7pm (depending on the school schedule). We hope the daytime and evening options facilitate parent participation. They are held in the school library (up the stairs and to the left). Our meeting schedule is included in the School Calendar.

 

Please come! As a parent/caregiver, you are automatically a member of the PTO and we want to hear your thoughts on how to support the school as a whole and your child individually.  

 

All PTO meetings will also be available via Zoom so that you can stay informed and ask questions, even if you can’t make it in person. Zoom info will be distributed via email ahead of time.
